The
Nutrition Council and The Flying Pig Marathon are
partnering to bring The
Flying Pig Kids Marathon to your school/group or
family. Participating students, with the support of
their fitness buddies (parents and school staff), walk, run or wheelchair the 26.2 mile distance of a
marathon in increments during the months leading up to the
Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon on April 30, 2011.
They also
tackle nutrition miles and learn to make healthy eating a
lifelong habit. This is not a race but rather an opportunity
for everyone to enjoy moving more and eating well, regardless of fitness
level, and to celebrate reaching that marathon goal.
The Flying Pig Kids
Marathon is a terrific way to help implement school Nutrition
and Fitness Wellness Policy. The Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon, rated one of the country’s BEST by Runner’s World Magazine.
Participants will cross the
real Flying Pig Marathon finish line and receive all the
honors of a true marathoner!
Any runner/walker interested in being a part of the Flying
Kids Marathon may download a copy of the 2011
Hog Log. The Hog Log encourages participants to Be Smart,
Eat Well and Move More by keeping track of their fitness
miles, reading daily and make healthy food choices along the
way.
