Resources for Active Living

A lifestyle program designed to help you be active and healthy.

CincinnatiWALKS is a great way to get you moving, have fun and lead you to better health. We provide you with a pedometer (step counter) that tracks the number of steps you take each day.    Studies show that taking 10,000 steps a day can reduce you risk of chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and osteoporosis.  Walking can also help you reach and maintain a healthy body weight.

Why Join CincinnatiWALKS?
The Nutrition Council no longer has any pedometers available at this time. Please call our office at 513-621-3262 and we will refer you to additional pedometer resources.

  • Official CincinnatiWALKS high quality digital pedometer

  • CincinnatiWALKS Program Guide

  • Eight-week Step-Tracker Logsheet

  • Nutrition Council's "Steps To A Healthy Diet" fact sheet.

  • 1-year subscription to "Food for Thought", the Nutrition Council's quarterly newsletter

Here is what a few CincinnatiWALKS participants have to say:

"I love that I didn't have to buy any expensive equipment, go through grueling workouts, or join any classes to get fit. I just lace up my most comfortable walking shoes and get moving. Even my dog seems trimmer from all the walks we've been taking!"

"Even though I don't always meet my 10,000 step goal, wearing the pedometer reminds me that moving is important and I have lost 8 pounds!" CincinnatiWALKS participant

"My pedometer really has become my walking buddy and I miss it if I leave home without it. Keeping my log on the refrigerator has made my whole family more aware of our activity levels." AB CincinnatiWALKS participant
